The slow start of Milan Luthria`s Ajay, Emraan, Kangna and Prachi starrer, `Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai`, was a sort of an anti-climax, especially after all the good reviews and predicted good start by the trade. Thankfully, the film picked up substantially by the evening and a healthy weekend is on the cards.

 Khatta Meetha (New)  Verdict: Awaited
 Weekly Earnings: UK£124,104 ; US$309,211  Total Earnings: UK£124,104 ; US$309,211
Last Friday’s Priyadarshan directed Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan starrer, `Khatta Meetha`, got off to a good start in places like Bombay-Maharashtra (more at the single screens), Gujarat and U.P but was dull in Delhi city and South. Though these are early days the film was expected to open much better though not on the level of `Housefull`. Thankfully, the weekend saw a positive growth but the film has to sustain at least till the second weekend to be termed a success, despite its reasonable costs for an Akki-Priyan project. The film has had an ordinary run in the Overseas, despite an entry at number 7 in UK charts.

 Lamhaa  Verdict: Disaster
Weekly Earnings: India Rs.8.5 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs.8.5 crore
Director: Rahul Dholakia  Producer: Bunty Walia, Jaspreet Singh Walia
Music: Mithoon  Lyrics: Saeed Quadri, Amitabh Varma (Guest)
Starring: Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Anupam Kher, Kunal Kapoor
 Genre: Drama  Recommended Audience: General
The opening of the Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu starrer, `Lamhaa`, was below par and the film could not improve on it and turned out to be amajor disapoointment.

 Tere Bin Laden  Verdict: Average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 5.50 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 5.50 crore
The other release of the same week, the Ali Zafar starrer `Tere Bin Laden` picked up remarkably at select multiplexes but remained poor at the remaining cinemas. Given the fact that the film has quite low costs and has maintained quite well during the second weekend too, the film is all set to be a success, more so due to the good satellite rights.

 Udaan (New)  Verdict: Below average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs.2.50 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs.2.50 crore
PB Rating: 8.5 out of 10  Public Rating (by 410 unique users): 5.11
Director: Vikramaditya Motwane  Producer: Sanjay Singh, Anurag Kashyap, Ronnie Screwvala
Music: Amit Trivedi  Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya, Anurag Kashyap
Starring: Rajat Barmecha, Ronit Roy, Aayan Boradia, Ram Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Anand Tiwari Sumant Mastkar, Raja Hudda, Varun Khettry, Varun Khettry, Akshay Sachdev
 Genre: Drama  Recommended Audience: General
Anurag Kashyap’s `Udaan` also shot up in a few multiplexes but was dull elsewhere. The film will be a safe preposition for all concerned, once the non-theatrical rights are accounted for.

 Milenge Milenge  Verdict: Coverage
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 1.50 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 10 crore ; UK£119,859
Director: Satish Kaushik  Producer: Boney Kapoor

Starring: Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Aarti Chhabria, Satish Shah, Delnaz Paul, Kirron Kher, Himani Shivpuri, Satish Kaushik, Sarfaraz Khan, Panini Rajkumar
 Genre: Romantic  Recommended Audience: General
Boney Kapoor’s much delayed Shahid-Kareena starrer `Milenge Milenge` is ending its run but given the fact that the makers are also the worldwide distributors and all the rights rest with them, the Satish Kaushik directed film will be a profitable venture for all concerned, especially due to the low costs and the handsome satellite rights. The film has apoor Overseas run.

I Hate Luv Storys  Verdict: Above average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 2.30 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 43.30 crore ; UK£511,582 ; US$843,543

Starring: Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Sameer Dattani, Samir Soni

Meanwhile Karan Johar’s Punit Malhotra directed `I Hate Luv Storys` is ending its successful run, where most of the collections came during the opening weekend. The film has. The Imran-Sonam starrer has also done very well in the Oversaes.
