2014 ´TOP 20´ Hit Movies
- Bhavikk Sangghvi           Let us know what you think about this story

Hits and Misses are a part of life.

In fact, it is all the more prevalent when it comes to our ‘movies’.

2013 had its share of hits, misses, surprise hits and obvious flops as usual at the box office.

2014 will be no different.

Being an optimist that he is, our in house expert and ace astro numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi predicts the potential ‘hits’ of 2014 calculated based on the film’s release date, vibration of the title, actor/actress date of birth etc.

Here’s the list:

1) Jai Ho (Releasing on 24th January 2014. Verdict: Super Hit): The title of the film adds up to Number 15 – this octave of Number 6 (Venus) if associated with a good or fortunate single number, can be very lucky and powerful. It is also associated with good talkers, often with eloquence, gifts of music/art and a dramatic personality combined with a certain voluptuous temperament and strong personal magnetism. For obtaining money, gifts and favours from others it is a fortunate number” explains Bhavikk. Add to that, super star Salman Khan’s (27th December 1965) destiny number is also Number 6 which vibrates with the release date (24th). This makes for a deadly combination. Expect nothing but fireworks !.

Bhavikk’s Tip: After helping deliver blockbusters for brother Arbaaz (Dabangg and Dabangg 2) and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri (Bodyguard), now it is Sohail Khan’s turn to revive his career as a producer/director.

2) Hasee Toh Phasee: (Releasing on 7th February 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of the film adds up to Number 62 – this octave of Number 8 (Saturn) is one of the most unluckiest numbers as it indicates gravest warnings for the future and foreshadows disasters brought about by association with others; ruin by speculations, partnerships, unions and bad advice. If it comes out in connection with future events, one should carefully consider the path one is treading. But wait, before jumping to conclusions – the year 2014 which adds up to Number 7 (Ketu) is likely to prove lucky for most Number 1, 2, 4 and 7 people and going by that formula, this film will ‘click’ with its target audience (read youth especially in big cities) and make producer Karan Johar (25th May 1972) a happy man. His second release after making a successful debut with ‘Student Of The Year’, actor Sidharth Malhotra will be second time lucky as he is a Number 7 person (16th January 1985) while his co-star the super talented Parineeti Chopra is ruled by Number 4 (22nd October 1988) twice.

Bhavikk’s Tip: A perfect pre-Valentine film for your loved ones !.

3) Gunday (Releasing on 14th February 2013. Verdict: Hit): The title of the film vibrates on Number 20 – this octave of Number 2 (Moon) is not a material number rather a spiritual one. Consequently it's potential in worldly success is doubtful. If used in relation to future events, it denotes delays, hindrances to one's plans, which can only be conquered through development of the spiritual side of one’s nature” explains Bhavikk. Although the meaning doesn’t sound positive, the personal luck of both the actors in the film Ranveer Singh (6th July 1985) and Arjun Kapoor (26th June 1985) is in top form with added advantage of Priyanka Chopra (18th July 1982) which will help the film to a large extent.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Releasing the film a day earlier (13th February) or spelling the title as “Gunde” will make a lot of difference. If director Abbas Ali Zafar has stuck to his vision (script) without compromising on commercial diktats, this one will turn out to be a brilliant film in all aspects.

4) Shaadi Ke Side Effects (Releasing on 28th February 2013. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film is vibrating on Number 71 – this octave of Number 8 (Saturn) is one of the most unluckiest numbers as it indicates gravest warnings for the future and foreshadows disasters brought about by association with others; ruin by speculations, partnerships, unions and bad advice. If it comes out in connection with future events, one should carefully consider the path one is treading. As mentioned earlier, the year 2014 which adds up to Number 7 (Ketu) is likely to prove lucky for most Number 1, 2, 4 and 7 people, places, dates, names etc. and the female protagonist Vidya Balan (1st January 1978) falls in to this bracket directly and so is co-producer Ekta Kapoor (7th June 1975).Co-star Farhan Akhtar’s (9th January 1974) destiny number adds up to Number 4 (Rahu) and should also rub off on the film.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Director Saket Chaudhary will once again do full justice to this one like its first counterpart ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ (2006).

5) Happy Ending (Releasing on 28th March 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film vibrates on Number 46 – an octave of Number 1 (Sun) which has a distinct potency of its own. It is a number of good and fortunate friendships in love and in combinations connected with the opposite sex. It is also good for partnerships of all kinds. It is a fortunate indication if it appears in connection with future events” explains Bhavikk. Being a Number 7 person, it is going to prove the best year for actor Saif Ali Khan (16th August 1970) as the year 2014 (7) is supporting him directly. His co-star Ileana D’cruz (1st November 1987) will also gain appreciation after a tepid response to her last film. Plus, the release date (28th) and title vibration (46), both adding up to Number 1 will help the film boost further business.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Touted to be as Govinda’s comeback film, he may not be able to get much benefit out of this one.

6) Action Jackson (Releasing on 1st May 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film is adding up to Number 43 – an unlucky octave of Number 7 (Ketu) symbolized by the signs of revolution, upheaval, strife, failure and prevention if it comes out in calculations relating to future events” explains Bhavikk. In that case, the film may garner mostly negative reviews but luckily, once again like I said, the year 2014 which adds up to Number 7 (Ketu) is likely to prove lucky for most Number 1, 2, 4 and 7 people, places, dates, names etc. and lead man Ajay Devgn (2nd April 1969) is a Number 2 person which has direct connection with Number 7 and hence it may appeal to his die-hard loyal fans which will put this film reach its safety mark.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the title ‘Action Jacksson’ (an extra ‘s’) may turn the tables in a big way.

7) Daawat-E-Ishq (Releasing on 9th May 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this one is adding up to Number 32 – this octave of Number 5 (Mercury) is a lucky number usually associated with combinations of people and nations. But in such cases, the person should hold to their own judgment and opinions, if not, their plans are likely to become wrecked by the stubbornness and stupidity of others. Still, it is a favourable number, if it appears in connection with future events” explains Bhavikk. A solo release post ‘Aashiqui 2’, actor Aditya Roy Kapur (16th November 1985) will taste (pun unintended) yet another success along with Parineeti Chopra (22nd October 1988). Their fresh pairing will be liked a lot as they would evoke great chemistry.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the title as ‘Daawat-E-Ishk’ (instead of a ‘q’) will prove to be a treat for producer Aditya Chopra.

8) Heropanti (Releasing on 23rd May 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film adds up to Number 38 – this octave of Number 2 (Moon) is a very unlucky number. It denotes uncertainties and treachery of others. It foreshadows trials and tribulation, unexpected dangers, unreliable friends and deception caused by members of the opposite sex. It gives grave warning if it comes out in anything concerning future events” explains Bhavikk. Although the meaning doesn’t seem positive, debutante Tiger Shroff’s (2nd March) date of birth goes in sync with the title vibration (38) and hence the audiences might give the newcomer a chance to display his histrionics.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Releasing the film a week earlier (16th May) as initially planned was a much better date.

9) Creature (Releasing on 30th May 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this is vibrating on Number 28 – an octave of Number 1 (Sun) which is a number of contradictions. It symbolizes a person of great promise and possibilities who is likely to see all taken away from them; unless they carefully arrange for the future. It also indicates loss through trust in others, opposition and competition in trade, danger of loss through law and the likelihood of having to begin life's road over and over again” explains Bhavikk. Touted as India’s first ‘beast’ film, it will work because of Bipasha Basu’s (7th January 1979), luck which will ride high in the year 2014 (7) being a Number 7 person directly.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the title as ‘Kreature’ (instead of a ‘c’) will enhance its box office prospects.

10) P.K. (Releasing on 6th June 2014. Verdict: Super Hit): The title of this film adds up to Number 10 – this octave of Number 1 (Sun) is a fortunate one. A good chance that the plan will be carried out however, the intensions will be important. With the brains like Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan (14th March 1965) behind this project, the sincerity is beyond doubt.

Bhavikk’s Tip: One more landmark film in the offering by the star actor and super director team after ‘3 Idiots’.

11) Humshakals (Releasing on 20th June 2013. Verdict: Hit): The title of this fun flick is adding up to Number 33 – an octave of Number 6 (Venus) which is a fortunate number. It promises the assistance and association of those of rank and position with one's plans; it also denotes gain through love and the opposite sex. It is a favourable number when it comes out in relation to future events” explains Bhavikk. Keeping aside the debacle of his last film ‘Himmatwala’, director Sajid Khan (23rd November 1971) will be back in his elements with equal support from Saif Ali Khan (16th August 1970) whose ‘stars’ will also be shining bright in 2014. Ditto for his leading lady Bipasha Basu (7th January 1979).

Bhavikk’s Tip: This one will turn to be a sure-shot winner.

12) Roy (Releasing on 20th June 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film adds up to Number 10 – this octave of Number 1 (Sun) is a fortunate one. A good chance that the plan will be carried out however, the intensions will be important. Since Ranbir Kapoor (28th September 1982) is directly a Number 1 person, the year 2014 and the film’s vibration (10) are in tandem with each other. His co-star Arjun Rampal’s (26th November 1972) destiny number is Number 2 (Moon) which gels well with the release date (20th) so this will be an engrossing fare.

Bhavikk’s Tip: The audience would feel cheated only if Ranbir’s role in the movie is just a cameo, as per some reports in the media.

13) Kick (Releasing on 27th July 2014. Verdict: Super Hit): The title of this Salman Khan starrer is adding up to Number 8 – an octave of Saturn which indicates extreme results – super success or absolute failure. With Salman’s (27th December 1965) midas touch off late, the latter possibility is not even remotely possible. Making his debut as a director with this film, producer Sajid Nadiadwala (18th February 1966) is in safe hands.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the film title as ‘Kickk’ (with an extra ‘k’) will ensure one more blockbuster on the occasion of ‘Eid’ for Salman fans.

14) It’s Entertainment (Releasing on 8th August 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this film is adding up to Number 58 – an octave of Number 4 (Rahu) which is not a fortunate number from a worldly or material standpoint. It is self-contained, lonely and isolated” explains Bhavikk. Going by its numerological interpretation and the meaning derived, it seems the film will be embraced mainly by audiences who swear by watching masala fares with foot tapping music and some dose of action thrown in. With Akshay Kumar (9th September 1967) at the helm of affairs, the chances are bright that it will turn to be a wholesome entertainer.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the title as ‘It’s Enterrtainment’ (with an extra ‘r’) will make a huge difference to its collections.

15) Gabbar (Releasing in 15th August 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this movie is adding up to Number 11 – an octave of Number 2 (Moon) which is an ominous number wherein one has to face great difficulties in carrying out their plans. It also indicates warning of hidden dangers, trial and treachery from others” explains Bhavikk. Going purely by its interpretation, it seems the successful team of Akshay Kumar (9th September 1967) and Sanjay Leela Bhansali (24th February 1963) may find it hard to repeat the success of his their collaboration ‘Rowdy Rathore’ (2012), but will still sail smoothly with this venture.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Spelling the title as ‘Gabber’ (with an ‘e’ instead of an ‘a’) will benefit a lot.

16) Singham 2 (Releasing on 15th August 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this sequel is adding up to Number 24 – an octave of Number 6 (Venus) which is a fortunate number. It promises the assistance and association of those of rank and position with one's plans; it also denotes gain through love and the opposite sex. It is a favorable number when it comes out in relation to future events” explains Bhavikk. The Ajay Devgn (2nd April 1969) and Rohit Shetty (14th March 1973) combo will once again pack a punch.

Bhavikk’s Tip: The idea of re-naming the film ‘Bajirao’ will prove to be a good one.

17) Bang Bang (Releasing on 2nd October 2014. Verdict: Super Hit): The title of this fun visual extravaganza (in Hrithik’s own words) is adding up to Number 22 – an octave of Number 4 (Rahu) which is symbolized as a good person who lives in dreams and illusion under the influence of others and who awakens only when surrounded by danger. It is also a number of false judgments. As a number in connection with future events; its warning and meaning should be carefully noted” explains Bhavikk. But wait, the theory of Number 1, 2, 4 and 7 is perfectly implied here with Hrithik Roshan (10th January 1974) and Katrina Kaif (16th July 1984) being Number 1 and 7 persons respectively and the title adding up to Number 4 (22). Supporting it further will be the release date which adds up Number 2 (2nd) and the compound number arrived from it (sum total of the entire date) which is Number 1 (Sun).

Bhavikk’s Tip: It will be arrive with a ‘bang’ (literally!) and shall turn out to be one of the biggest grossers of 2014.

18) Detective Byomkesh Bakshi (Releasing on 12th December 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this spy film is vibrating on Number 80 – this octave of Number 8 (Saturn) is one of the most unluckiest numbers as it indicates gravest warnings for the future and foreshadows disasters brought about by association with others; ruin by speculations, partnerships, unions and bad advice. If it comes out in connection with future events, one should carefully consider the path one is treading” explains Bhavikk. The meaning might sound not-so-positive; but the lead protagonist Sushant Singh Rajput (21st January 1986) birth number being Number 3 (Jupiter) coinciding with the release date (12th) might just help the film and will click with its target audience (mainly in multiplexes of big cities) or viewers who swear by Dibakar Banerjee’s brand of cinema.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Calling the film just as ‘Detective Byomkesh’ (by removing Bakshi – the surname completely) will make it in to a profitable venture.

19) Bombay Velvet (Releasing on 25th December 2014. Verdict: Hit): The title of this period film is vibrating on Number 46 – an octave of Number 1 (Sun) which has a distinct potency of its own. It is a number of good and fortunate friendships in love and in combinations connected with the opposite sex. It is also good for partnerships of all kinds. It is a fortunate indication if it appears in connection with future events” explains Bhavikk. Since actors Ranbir Kapoor (28th September 1982) and Anushka Sharma (1st May 1988) and director Anurag Kashyap (10th September 1972) all there are directly Number 1 persons; plus the title vibrating on 46 (Number 1 again) and the release date being on 25th (Number 7), it will be a win-win situation for the trio and the best Christmas gift for the industry and the audiences as well.

Bhavikk’s Tip: For Anurag, it will be his career’s ‘biggest hit’ (commercially) so far.

20) Happy New Year (Releasing in December 2014. Verdict: Super Hit): Perhaps, the ‘best’ is reserved for the ‘last’. The title of easily the most anticipated release of the year is adding up to Number 30 – which is neither fortunate nor unfortunate. It indicates strong mental faculties of a person. But that person will have the tendencies to put all materials things on one side – not because one has to, but because they wish to do so. Hence this number can be powerful or indifferent depending upon the will or desire of that person” explains Bhavikk. Starring SRK (2nd November 1965), Deepika Padukone (5th January 1986), Abhishek Bachchan (5th February 1976), Boman Irani (2nd December 1959) and Sonu Sood (30th July 1973) and being directed by Farah Khan (9th January 1965), it can’t get bigger than this. Period !.

Bhavikk’s Tip: Clearly, the biggest grosser of 2014. No questions asked.
