´ZNMD´, ´Rockstar´ dominate nominations for Filmfare awards

After wowing cinegoers as well as critics across the country with their cinematic excellence, the Hrithik Roshan-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Rockstar' are dominating the nominations list for the 57th Filmfare awards, to be held on January 29. 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' lead the nominations tally for the filmfare awards in the popular category , with 'Rockstar' bagging 9 nominations, including that for Best film, Best director for Imtiaz Ali , Best actor for Ranbir Kapoor and Best Music director for A R Rahman.

Close in competition with the Ranbir Kapoor starrer is Zoya Akhtar's directorial venture 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' with eight nominations including for Best film, Best director for Zoya Akhtar, Best actor for Hrithik Roshan and Best Music director for Shankar Ehsan and Loy.

In fact 'Rockstar' leads the nominations in the music category with six nominations- Rahman bagging the nomination for Best Music Director, lyricist Irshad Kamil bagging two nominatons for the songs 'Nadaan Parimdey' and 'Sadda Haq, singer Mohit Chauhan winning two nominations for 'Jo Bhi Main' and 'Sadda Haq' and singer Harshdeep Kaur nominated in the category of Best Playback singer (female ) for the song 'Katiya Karu'.

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Ra One' won four nominations along with 'Delhi Belly' and 'The Dirty Picture'.

In fact, 'Ra one' gives close competition to 'Rockstar' in the music category with four nominations - Vishal Shekhar for Best Music Director, Vishal Dadlani and Niranjan Iyengar for Best Lyricist for 'Chammak Challo', International singer Akon and Vishal Dadlani for Best Playback Singer male for 'Chhammak Challo' and Shafqat Amanat Ali for 'Dildaara'.

The Aamir Khan production 'Delhi Belly' has bagged four nominations including that for Best Film, Best Director for Abhinav Deo, Best Music Director for Ram Sampat and Best supporting actor male for Vir Das.

'The Dirty Picture' too has won four nominations including Best Film, Best Director for Abhinav Deo, Best actress for Vidya Balan and Best Supporting actor Male for Naseeruddin Shah.

Also making its presence felt in the nominations is 'No One Killed Jessica' which bagged nominations in the categories of Best Film, Best Director (Raj Kumar Gupta ) and Best Actress for Vidya Balan.

Vying for Best Film award award are 'Delhi Belly', 'Don 2', 'No One Killed Jessica', 'Rockstar', 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' while the competitors for Best Director award are Abhinay Deo ( Delhi Belly), Farhan Akhtar ( Don 2), Imtiaz Ali (Rockstar), Milan Luthria (The Dirty Picture), Raj Kumar Gupta (No One Killed Jessica) and Zoya Akhtar(Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara).

Nominated in the Best Actor category are Ajay Devgn for 'Singham', Amitabh Bachchan for 'Aarakshan', Hrithik Roshan for 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', Ranbir Kapoor for 'Rockstar', Salman Khan for 'Bodyguard' and Shah Rukh Khan for 'Don 2'.

Vying for them Best Actress award are Katrina Kaif for 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', Mahie Gill for 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster', Priyanka Chopra for '7 Khoon Maaf' and Vidya Balan for 'No One Killed Jessica' and 'The Dirty Picture'.

A unique feature of the 57th Filmfare awards will be that Filmfare will award its 2500th trophy this year, which also marks the 100th year of the Hindi film industry.
