The “Name Nation Dosti” bagged five awards under the international category while “Gaabha” got the award of best film in the national category of ‘Filmsaaz-2013’, an international film festival of short and documentary films organized by the University Film Club of General Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University.

The “Name, Nation, Dosti” got the awards for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Screenplay while Best Editing Award went to “Do Re Mi Fa”, Best Cinematography and Best Story to “Connection Failed” and Best Sound Design to “Taxi Driver”. Best Documentary Award was won by “Caravan of Peace and Love” and Best Animation Film Award was shared by “Cup of Life” and “Monetalis”. Best Ad Award went to “Bazinga Promo”.

In the National Category, “Gabha” got the Best Film Award while “Melawa” and “Communication in Love Life” got Best Director, “Bellona” Best Actress, “Aaina: A Mirror of Life” Best Actor, “Hamari Film Kya Kam Thi” Best Screenplay, “Shunya” Best Editing, “Humsafar” Best Cinematography, “Mysticus” Best Story and “Matiche Sur” got Best Sound Design Award. “Bit of Both” and “Land of Ignorance” received Best Documentary Award while “Respecting Mother Earth” Best Animation, “Voice of an Indian” Best Music Video and “Muqaddar Start” Best Ad Film. Special Jury Award went to “A Boy Name” special mention, The Patient in Mysticus Special Mention and Aaina special mention respectively.

Bollywood film actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and producer-director Sandeep Sahota gave away awards to the winners. Dr. FS Sheerani, Coordinator, GEC welcomed the guests. Mr. Arif Mohd. Yasin Jwadder presented the Filmsaaz Report. Mr. S. Abid Hasan also spoke on the occasion. The programme was conducted by Mahak S. Zaidi and Fawad Shaheen jointly.

The occasion was marked by a frenzied response to Nawazuddin 'Faisal' Siddiqui, who was the chief guest. The audience went crazy at seeing the "Gangs Of Wasseypur" star live, and gave the security a tough time.

The promo of Nawazuddin's upcoming project with Bipasha Basu, the Suparn Varma directed 'Aatma' was also aired during the award ceremony, to a great response, and the audience promised to watch it at the cinemas, at least four times!
