Director-producer Aanand L Rai scores a hattrick , as his recent offering , Tanu Weds Manu Returns struck gold at the box office, post the riveting success of Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhanaa.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns has collected an approximate Rs. 62.95 crore in India in less than a week, making it 2015's first bonafide blockbuster.

The film also went on to make Rs. 22 crore overseas , till Tuesday. Having crossed the 80 cr mark worldwide, the film is all set to make it to the highly coveted 100-crore club.

While Tanu Weds Manu Returns was praised by audiences and critics alike, Rai was lauded by the industry for his ability to create celluloid magic with a female-lead driven film.

In the day and age where A-list actors rule the roost and pull in the crowds, Aanand L Rai managed to deliver a film reminiscent of yesteryear blockbusters where content rules and audiences are treated to a story rooted in Indian culture, set against a realistic canvas.
