The sweet, mellow girl of 'Tere Naam' (One would hardly consider her the sporty types!), but the fact is Bhumika during her school-college times played Badminton and Billiards.

The sport enthusiast gives her best wishes all the while appreciating the Indian Sportsmen. “This time I feel we have brighter and better chances of getting more medals,”she says. “ With the sports talents like Abhinav Bindra, Gagan Narang,MC Mary Kom, Sushil Kumar, Deepika Kumari etc. we have chances of winning medals in Boxing, Kabaddi ,Lawn tennis, Badminton, shooting and archery. I believe if tried hard we can win medals even in track & field because you never know which athlete has the potential to break the records and get India a gold medal. And with the kind of talent that we are sending out there to represent our country I’m hoping this turns out to be a best Olympic for us!”

Not losing her sporty spirit Bhumika adds, “In hockey too, we have the potentials to win the gold medal and so it is a gut feeling that India will qualify for the semi-finals.” Sharing her vast knowledge of Olympics she says, “It will be exciting to see this Olympics because this time we will see 200 countries participating for more than 300 sports activities!”

An individual Indian player Bhumika trusts who shall bring home a gold medal is Saina Nehwal in Badminton. “Saina is one of the rarest talents,” she says, “and with her performance I am sure she will win us a gold medal!” However, apart from Badminton, Bhumika is eagerly waiting to watch the water sports competitions “specifically the competitions in swimming and water canoeing.”

And with the celebrity wishes pouring in, it does seem like the Indian sports stars will shine brighter on the Olympics field.
