BFI London Film Festival Selects ´Noble Chor´ Based On Tagore´s Medal Theft!

It’s raining good news for Bengali Feature Film 'Nobel Chor' (English Name: 'Nobel Thief') and its makers. Producer Ashwani Sharma is delighted to inform that Nobel Chor has been officially selected for screening in the 55th BFI London Film Festival 2011 from Oct 12th -27th.. It will be shown in the World section and will be having two screenings. It will be presented as the European Premiere of the film.

Superstar Mithun Chakraborty plays the main lead of Bhanu who finds the Nobel Medal of Rabindra Nath Tagore which was stolen from Shantiniketan in 2004. What happens to the Medal and Bhanu in a twisting turn of events forms the entire story of Nobel Chor. Another Bengali icon Soumitra Chatterjee also stars in the role of Mastermoshai in the film. Well known actors like Harsh Chhaya and Rupa Ganguly also star in the film in important characters.

“The film will be first having its World Premiere in 16th Busan International Film Festival where it will be shown in the Section A Window on Asian Cinema and will have three screenings from October 6th – 14th 2011” informs the director Suman Ghosh.

Ashwani Sharma believes that Busan International Film Festival is the largest and most important one in the whole of Asia and it’s an honor to be a part of this cinematic gathering.
