'Office Office', the popular television show's Pandeyji, that is, Hemant Pandey's name is on the tip of everyone's tongue these days because January 30 will see the release of his new film 'Chal Guru, Ho Jaa Shuru'. This film is a satirical take on the lives of spiritual gurus and God men and how they fool the public in order to fulfill their corrupt desire. Made under the banner of Himalayan Dreams, this film has been directed by Manoj Sharma. From a recent interview with Hemant Pandey, the following are a few excerpts:

What's your role in the film?

I play the role of a spiritual guru.

Did you have to prepare for the role? What all did you do?

I'm from Uttarakhand, which is also known as 'Dev bhumi'. It is said about Uttarakhand that there are temples at every few steps. I have been around these babas and gurus since childhood, besides the television is galore all these babas trying to guide us in life. Rest, I did as I was told by my director Manoj Sharma.

You say that your film reveals the truth about babas and gurus, film P.K also did the same and was welcomed by protests and agitation. What if your film holds the same fate?

Just like every coin has two sides, similarly, there are bad as well as good gurus, too. We have tried our best to show all of that in the film. Beware of the frauds, don't follow blind devotion and use your common sense.

What are your upcoming films?

After 'Chal Guru Ho Jaa Shuru', I'm doing another one of director Manoj Sharma's film 'Prakash Electronics', which also features Hrishita Bhatt. Then there is 'Waah, Taj' in which I'm playing the role of a corrupt politician, Shreyas Talpade and Manjari Phadnis are the main leads. I'm playing the villain in Rajeev Ruia's 'Lucknowi Ishq'. 'Lollipop' and 'Chor Bazaari' are the other films. Another film that I've done is 'Daughter's Dream'. This film is very important for me. I have played seven different characters in this film. The film has received quite a lot of appreciation and accolades in Delhi Film Festival and Woman International Festival in Jaipur.

So this year, your fans will not only see the comic side of yours, but various other aspects, as well?

Definitely. My only motive is to entertain my fans. Make them laugh one moment, scare them the other.
