I had begun to lose faith in Anand-Milind’s abilities, but SHAPATH has restored that faith. If you’re looking for a fun-filled score with catchy songs then SHAPATH is it!

The album kicks off with an instantly appealing qawali, "Ishq Aur Pyar Ka Mazaa Lijiye". Although the star attraction in this song is Altaf Raja (making his Hindi film debut), its Sonu Nigam who steals the show with his wonderful Rafiesque rendering! Altaf Raja’s solo version is set to slightly different music with a more ‘electronic’ sound, but is just as good.

The pace quickens with the bhangra-dance fusion number, "Hai Bada Anari Rabba". Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan are at their best in this riotous number and are joined by a maniacal chorus! This one is bound to be the darling of the D.J.’s loudspeakers!

"Munde Bigad Gaye" is another bhangra style song. Udit and Alka have a great time once again, this time joined by Vinod Rathod. A-M have recycled their COOLIE NO.1 tune, "Hamari Gali Aajana" for this number.

Udit then plays the alcoholic in "Chuski Chuski". The lyrics are nothing special but the tune, rhythm and Udit’s singing make it worthwhile.

"Choome Mere Balon Ko" doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the album.

Poornima tries her ‘seductive’ act with Vinod Rathod but fails miserably!

Compared to the rest of the album this song seems dull and lifeless.

SHAPATH proves that A-M are still capable of giving us a zingy score, unfortunately the star cast (Mithun, Jackie, Ramya, Harish) may put listeners off!
