Shah Rukh Khan will get a chance to gauge whether his 'Paheli' stands a chance to be nominated for the Oscars on 31st January .

The Palm Springs festival will screen 'Paheli' along with the 46 other Oscar contenders . The film reviews will be a crucial factor for the voters at the Oscars .

Five more Indian films are also being screened at the fete - 'Parzania' , 'Parineeta' , 'Nisshabd' . 'Dansh' and 'The Rising - Mangal Pandey' .

The festival opened on 5th January with Terrence Malicks 'The New World' .
