King Khan's Gift To Alma Mater

Watching Shah Rukh Khan anchoring the third edition of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC) is not the only reason for jubilation for those associated with Hansraj College , Delhi University (DU) . There is another reason too . King Khan has sent a cheque of Rs 20,000 for his alma mater as a token of his love for the college.

Being a Hansraj graduate , Shah Rukh shares a special relationship with his alma mater . While Amitabh Bachchan may have missed visiting Kirorimal College when he came to accept a doctorate degree in DU , Shah Rukh Khan has made short visits to the college while being in the capital . He also came to celebrate the college's golden jubilee a few years back . This time , the Bollywood star has sent a cheque of Rs 20,000 along with a message for his college.This is the first time the star has sent a cheque to the college.

"Even though there are changes in the college and students move on , they still feel a sense of belonging which is evident from Shah Rukh's gesture , " said N.K Jain , co-ordinator alumini meet , which is taking place on February 6 , adding , " Since the actor is busy with his shooting he could not come to personally handover the cheque to the college."
