Winner of Best Foreign Film at the 79th Annual Academy Awards is Germany's 'The Lives of Others' directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck.

The announcement is one of a few surprises this year, as Pan's Labyrnth was favored to win this category, as it had won many of the other categories for which it was nominated.

However, congratulations to Deepa Mehta and the entire crew of Water for making it all the way to the final five.
