Vidya Balan made a quick trip to Madras , and , point to ponder , Kunal Kapoor was there too , Nah , nothing as exciting as rumours of affection , just that both were screen-tested for a Mani Ratnam project .

While it is known that both were put through the grind by the director , it's still a closely-guarded secret whether they bagged the roles they were tested for .
