Religious Intolerance Against Films Come To The Fore
- Abid           Let us know what you think about this story

If it was not tragic, it would be mirthful, for, in Chattisgarh, groups of Hindus and Muslims were up in arms over two different Hindi films, last week.

The Hindus were protesting against the use of their 'holy symbol' in 'Red Swastik', and the muslims demanding a ban on 'Aap Kaa Surroor', because they felt that the picturisation of the song 'Ya Ali' was objectionable.

How easy it seems to people to raise their voices against films? If, instead the same groups directed their protest and anger against corruption and bad living conditions (like potholed roads and poor medical facilities), their lives - and also the lives of filmmakers - would become a lot better. But that is unlikely to happen so easily, because if India is the land of the Gods, there must be a place for satans too! How else, as every filmmaker knows, conflict take place?
