Actor Aamir Khan has been signed by Toyota Kirloskar (on Wednesday) as the brand ambassador to promote its utility vehicle Innova . Toyota has usually kept away from signing celebrities as brand ambassadors.

Innova , a replacement for Toyota's Qualis (due to a more stringent emission norms) has notched up an impressive sales figures of 18,000 units since its launch a couple of months back , in a segment (SUV/MUV) that has traditionally seen sluggish sales in India .

Aamir Khan will be promoting Innova in its second phase through media campaigns and ground promotion activities .
