While it cannot be denied that 'Hum Tum' had performed better than 'Swades' at the box-office ; according to Star India , 'Swades' was the highest rated movie for the entire month across all movie channels with seven million viewers tuning in.

Star had aired the movie as part of its plans to convert Star Gold into a full-fledged movie channel.

Star Gold is also buoyed by the success of 'Project Swades' wherein it had proposed to light up one village. It has received over one lakh responses as of August 23 and has collected Rs 3.75 lakh.
