The director of the Shah Rukh –Priyanka starrer ‘Don –The Chase Begins Again’ , Farhan Akhtar , has always been fascinated by ‘Don’ . “ Everytime I’ve wanted to visit an old film , by default I’ve chosen ‘Don’ . On a trip I heard the soundtrack of the movie being used as a background score on an album , I was very excited and wondered why nobody had thought of remaking this cult film . "

Farhan’s ‘Don’ fascination continued during ‘Lakshya’ and he adds that " I was busy with ‘Lakshya’ then but promised myself that if my fascination with ‘Don’ continued till after I’d finished the project at hand , I’d just go ahead and remake it . And here I am " , adds Farhan .

Incidentally , Riteish Sidhwani , the producer of October 20 release ‘Don-The Chase Begins Again’ , brought the negatives of the 1978 film from its owners , the Iranis .
