All About The Upcoming 'Manorama Six Feet Under'

'Manorama Six Feet Under' is a dark comedy about an amateur detective in a small town, who gets caught in a web of lies, deceit and murder. The entire plot is set in a sleepy town of Rajasthan, where neighbours like to peek into each other's life and yearn to put an end to the mundane activities that they remain engrossed in.

Recently, the star cast of 'Manorama Six Feet Under', Abhay Deol, Raima Sen and Gul Panag were in the capital, New Delhi, for the promotion of the film.

'Manorama Six Feet Under' is a Shemaroo Entertainment Banner's movie, directed by Navdeep Singh and Produced by Ketan Maroo. Navdeep is makes his debut as a director. He has already directed a number of award- winning commercial for Garnier, MTV, Maruti Alto, Lux and Parle Hide 'n' Seek etc.

Speeking about the movie Abhay Deol informed the media, "I am playing an amateur detective's character in this movie, whose wife usually suspects him for no reasons. I write a book on a famous detective's life and about the incidents that occurred in his life, a reader of that book, that it Sarika (who plays 'Manorama'), get impressed with my book and appoints me as her private detective, to explore more about her husband's affair with a lady. While the investigation are on, Sarika dies and I get stuck in to unwanted circumstances".

Talking about his co-star Gul Panag, Abhay said, "It was nice working with Gul Panag, she is a natural actor. I shared a very good comfort level while working with her. I agreed to do this movie because I really liked the idea and passion of the director of this film." He added that, "This is my sixth movie and from all the characters that I have essayed, I like this one the most".

Raima Sen, who was present on the occasion said, "I am playing the character of 'Sheetal', who works with an NGO in this movie and approaches, Abhay seeking some help Though the music in this movie is not a 'sing-song', I like ' Woh Mere Pal'. "

Gul Panag, the former Miss India said, "I am playing 'Nimi', (Abhay Deol's wife), who is very talkative and runs a beauty parlor. My character in this movie has all the shades which should be there."

When Gul was asked about the experience with her co-stars, she said, " I shot more scenes with Abhay then any other character in this movie. Abhay is a very good actor and he proved his potential with his performance in this film". She added that she would love to work with directors like Mani Shankar and Rituparno Ghosh.

Apart from Abhay, Raima and Gul Panag, the star cast comprises of Sarika, Vinay Pathak and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

The tunes of music director Jayesh Gandhi and Raiomond Mirza have been rendered melodiously by singers like Jayesh Gandhi, Roop Kumar Rathod, Mahalakshmi Iyer, Kailash Kher, Richa Sharma and Zubeen Garg.

'Manorama Six Feet Under' hits the theaters this Friday.
