The Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances ( NDPS) Act court has rejected Fardeen Khan's plea that he was a user of narcotics and not a trader , leaving him open to trial .Under the NDPS Act , users of narcotics can get a one-time reprieve to undergo detoxification to avoid facing trial in court .
However , Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) , which had arrested Fardeen in May 2001 , claims that he was in possession of 9 grams of cocaine . NCB has already filed the charges against Fardeen , and the actors trial would begin once the court frames the charges .
