Sonali Bendre is a smart operator. In a dispute involving her and producer K.C. Bokadia over the refund of signing amount paid by Bokadia to Sonali for a film role , she has told the joint dispute settlement committee of the IMPPA and the FWICE that she was still ready to to do the lead role in producer K.C. Bokadia's film, provided the set up was the same- that is Saif Ali Khan in the male lead and Rajesh Vakil as the director.

Obviously, Saif will never act in a film to be directed by Vakil when he has been turning down offers from far more successful directors. Sonali also knows that at this glorious stage of his career, Saif will never work in a film opposite her, when top heroines of the day are willing to break relationships to work with him and Sonali, even in her prime was never in the top ranking names!

Little wonder that K.C. Bokadia has consistently remained absent from the meetings as he knows that its a win-win situation for the shrewd Sonali and a lose-lose one for him!
