'Dil Dosti Etc.' Surprises With Its Success

As we had indicated in our last box-office column, Prakash Jha's 'Dil Dosti Etc.' has managed to succeed and surprise the trade and media that had written it off.

During its first week, the movie netted slightly over 1.50 crores, with an all-India per print average of above Rupees 2 lakhs (Rs. 2,01,175 for 78 prints).

'Dil Dosti Etc.' entered into a strong second week, with approximately the same number of prints and shows. The total weekend collection in the second week was above Rupees 50 Lakhs, and the total net collection at the end of the second week is approximately Rs 2 crore 50 Lakhs.

The film, made by debutant director, Manish Tiwary, has recovered its production costs, is an earner and can easily be declared a ‘sleeper success'.
