With five new releases hitting the box-office last week, the Shahid and Kareena-starrer, 'Jab We Met' has been the showstopper with a fairly good opening.

As per a press release, the film opened to a 70 percent response in Delhi and Punjab while it was 50-60 percent in other parts. Mumbai garnered 70 percent occupancy by Friday evening (27 October). Trade analysts point out that the film should emerge as a hit as the film is performing consistently.

'Jab We Met' has also emerged a major success in U.K. The film has grossed £ 156,013 in its opening weekend [includes Thursday previews], thus proving to be the biggest Shahid Kapoor opener in U.K.

In Punjab and Delhi, the film did exceptionally well due to the local flavour and is poised to pick in the week. The other three movies, 'Bal Ganesh', 'Mumbai Salsa' and 'No Smoking' were damp squibs at the box-office with minuscule openings of 5-10 percent. 'No Smoking' performed relatively better with 15-20 percent.

Produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine vision Ltd and directed by Imtiaz Ali, the fun love story has received tremendous media acclaim. Its music is still occupying the charts across India and abroad.

Other future projects of Shree Ashtavinayak include 'Superstar', directed by Rohit Jugraj and starring Kunal Khemu and Tulip Joshi, the sequel to 'Golmaal' called 'Golmaal Returns', directed by Rohit Shetty and many others as well.
