Producer Firoz Nadiadwala has this habit of showing the audience promos that are not actually a part of the movie . He did it with 'Hera Pheri' by airing the song 'Mujhse Milti Hai' which was not in the movie but was lucky because the movie pulled through because of the novelty and sheer brilliance of the comedy .With 'Awara Paagal Deewana' , Firoz was honest and all that was shown via promos was actually there in the movie and as a result the movie succeeded at the box-office .
The malady struck Firoz again with 'Aan -Men At Work' and the two best (promoted) songs were again not in the movie and we all know what happened . One of the songs was added later but by then it was too late. However , it appears that Firoz has not learned his lessons because with 'Deewane Huye Paagal' , the impression given by the trailors was that of an action flick with liberal doses of comedy . The audience who went to catch the movie expected some vintage action from Akshay( something his fans have been thirsting for ) , were shocked to find nothing of that in the movie and it in fact turned out to be another comedy with minimal action . Three of his outstanding action sequences were wdited out . To add to that his highlight song 'Maar Sutiya' had only one para (and some say Akshay got Shahid's role chopped!) . The lukewarm performance of the movie at the box-office reflects the disillusion and anger of the actual paying audience . Perhaps now (hopefully!) Firoz , a wonderful and extravagent producer otherwise , will realise the critical Bollywood rule of never misguiding the audience about what they are actually going to see in the theaters .
