Los Angeles, Jan 10 (PTI) Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid is at last out of his 2007 Los Angeles hospital case. Quaid can now finally relax as a judge has officially closed the case that almost cost the lives of his twin babies. The star and his wife Kimberley were awarded USD 75 thousand as compensation after staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center mistakenly gave the couple's newborns, Thomas and Zoe, a near-fatal amount of blood thinning drug Heparin - leaving them fighting for their lives. The twins, however, have recovered and are in good health.
Meanwhile, the Quaid's lawsuit against Heparin's drug maker, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, accusing executives of negligence in packaging adult and paediatric doses in similar vials, has been dismissed on grounds of jurisdiction. The incident occurred in California while the pharmaceutical firm's corporate address is listed in Illinois.
