Clooney lends villa to Beckham

Beckham's LA club is yet to agree to sell and transfer him to AC Milan. He is due to be back in America on March 9.

However, the soccer player wants to make the move after spending two months at the Clooney's luxurious villa which he has borrowed on loan.

The villa, on Lake Como, is half an hour from Beckham's Milan base.

The 47-year-old Clooney and Beckham became friends after being introduced by Giorgio Armani at the Met Ball in New York in May last year.

'Their friendship has gone to the next level since David started using George's home,' the source said.

Beckham's wife Victoria and the couple's three sons are also said to have stayed at the luxury villa.

Although Beckham is planning to make the move to Milan permanently, Posh will remain in US with their sons.
