Shahid who celebrated his birthday recently, prefers to say that he is 28 years younger than 28 years older.

One of Shahid's friend says, "He wants to be that way! Also Shahid feels that playing characters older than your real age can fall flat on screen at times and he does notwant to land up doing anything stupid."

Shahid likes to look at things realistically and practically. "Shahid believes there are enough roles being written where an actor can play his age," adds the friend.
