Subhash Ghai or his films may not have been in the race for the Oscars but there seems to be some connection between the two.

For one, Oscar winner A. R. Rahman has said that it was Ghai who had asked him to make a song with the words "Jai Ho" in it, a move that ultimately won the music maestro an Oscar this year.
