London, Mar 13(PTI) Actor-turned rapper Joaquin Phoenix who is infamous for his eccentric behaviour, made news again when he was dragged away by security guards after coming to blows with a audience member who booed him. Phoenix who took to the stage at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel for a short performance, wore his usual unkempt look with scruffy hair and taped-up sunglasses, reported the Daily Mail online.

The Academy award winning actor who announced his decision to quit acting last year, made a late entrance keeping the audience waiting for four hours.

But he soon jumped off-stage into the audience responding to someone who appeared to be heckling him from the crowd. "I saw the guy screaming at Joaquin, and Joaquin just came down," Jorge Lledo, who was a part of the audience said.

The two men had to be separated by security guards, who dragged the actor back on stage and then escorted him away.

The actor's increasingly strange behavior has left some speculating that it is a part of an elaborate prank planned by him with his brother-in-law actor Casey Affleck, who has been filming him for a documentary.

It's unknown whether the confrontation, and his pledge to quit acting and start rapping, was real or a staged hoax,but Affleck continues recording Phoenix's performances on camera.
