London, Mar 21 (PTI) After reportedly splurging 30,000 pounds on a magical makeover for her red carpet appearance in Tokyo, Katie Holmes was back to her deglamourised self after returning to Los Angeles. The actress had taken off her glossy extensions and was sporting her regular short hair style, which she paired with a blue shirt, checkered scarf and grey sweat pants, reported Daily Mail online.

The actress who is married to and has a child with superstar Tom Cruise, took out the long hair extensions she debuted last week in Tokyo, despite the fact that they take six hours to put in and were rumoured to have come with a 2,000 pound price tag.

Her latest frumpy look comes just a week after her stunning appearance at the Japanese premiere of husband Tom Cruise's film "Valkyrie" where she was described by onlookers as "absolutely flawless".

Holmes had reportedly spent two days at a exclusive spa to regain her glow which seemed to have faded in recent times as the result of a rumoured Scientology detox diet which saw her weight drop dramatically.
