New York, Mar 23 (PTI) Family and friends of Tony winning actress Natasha Richardson gathered at St Peter's Church in Millbrook here for the funeral of the star who died unexpectedly four days ago after a skiing accident. The "Parent Trap" star's husband, actor Niam Leeson, their two sons Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, along with her mother Vanessa Redgrave and sister Joely Richardson were in attendance, as were the friends like Uma Thurman, Ralph Fiennes and Mia Farrow, People magazine reported.

Neeson was the first to put his hand on the mahogany casket carrying his dead wife, which he and six other pallbearers carried to the church. The "Schindler's List" actor looked somber in a dark suit and sunglasses as he walked away from the hearse.

The ceremony lasted over an hour and then the group moved towards a nearby cemetery where Richardson was buried next to her grandmother Rachel Redgrave.

Richardson, 45, died in a Manhattan hospital after suffering a serious head injury during a skiing accident in Canada on March 16.
