Mid-Day Defames Vivek!
- Amanda Sodhi           Let us know what you think about this story

It's another classic case of the media getting it wrong —Mid-Day recently reported that Vivek Oberoi had a bit too much fun at a friend's dinner party, and ended up getting slapped by the host's girlfriend, after trying to get a bit too close. The Mid-Day piece was inspired from a Film Information piece which quotes an "eyewitness."

Dale Bhagwagar, Vivek's current publicist, clarifies, "Nothing of this sort ever happened. Vivek is an extremely well-behaved and cultured boy, though often misunderstood. All this talk about him being involved in a thing like this is simply rubbish and a figment of the newspaper's over-creative imagination."

Vivek may soon take to court for defamation. What about the so-called witness? Bhagwagar laughs while commenting, "Where is the question of an 'eyewitness' when no such party or function ever took place…The incident as well as the whole story about this party, drinking, flirting and slap is all fictitious."

Looks like the media needs to start double-checking its sources!
