Mumbai, Apr 13 (PTI) With the ongoing stand-off between the Bollywood producers-distributors and multiplex owners remaining unresolved, Mukesh Bhatt met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here today to discuss the formation of a new committee to look into the problems of the industry. "I met the Prime Minister today and discussed the ongoing crisis with him. We requested him to form a committee under the I&B Ministry to look into the day to day problems of the film industry," Bhatt, Chairman of the United Forum for Bollywood Producers and Distributors, told PTI.Bhatt said the Prime Minister promised him that the suggestion to form a committee would be implemented if Congress was voted to power.
"During the 1990s the government had come to the rescue of an ailing film industry by announcing a five year tax holiday and now its time that it looked into the matters concerning the biggest entertainment industry of the world," Bhatt said.
