Shimla´s Indian Institute of Advanced Study To Celebrate 150th Anniversary Of Tagore!

Indian Institute of Advanced Study here has organised a film festival on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, novelist, playwright, poet, musician, artist, social reformer and a central figure in the Indian nationalist movement.

The festival is based on Tagore's short stories and novels that have been adapted into films by Bengali filmmakers.

A K Sharma, Public Relations Officer of IIAS, told reporters here today that the Film Festival would end on May 1.

On the concluding day the following films would be screened-A Documentary on Tagore by Satyajit Ray at 1100 hours , 'Khokababur Pratyabartan' by Naresh Mitra at 1400 hours. and 'Choker Bali' by Rituporno Ghosh at 1700 hours.

The Venue of the films is Pool Theatre, Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla and Entry to the films is free.
