A press conference (in Bangkok), usually expected to be a dull and sombre affair, witnessed a hypnotic and breathtaking performance by Akshay Kumar, who appeared not with a pleasant persona but as a 'Khiladi' with a new definition of fear to the audience. The actor made an entry on his sports bike by breaking a glass and later carried a snake around his neck.Akhsay is going to be at the helm of affairs of the programme called 'Khatron Ke Khiladi', which can be described as based on the most popular show in Europe, 'Fear Factor', which is running in 72 countries in the world.
The show will be the main attraction on the channel Colours, announced by India's leading multi-media entertainment powerhouse, Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd. The channel will touch the spectrum of emotions of the Indian viewers from July. Interrupting the 'Khiladi' during his breathtaking performance, a scribe asked what fear means to him. The actor bent under a table and took out a snake from a bag and said, "this is fear"! He carried the scary reptile around his neck for the entire programme. Akshay said, "Fear is in everyone's mind, but I think women are stronger than men to tackle it. I have always believed that women are stronger than men, Men, who believe that they are stronger than women, are no better than pigs. Through 'Khatron Ke Khiladi', I am here to prove these men wrong and establish the fact that women are not only emotionally stronger, but also out do men in physical strength. So, watch out for these 13 beautiful women, who take on some of their lives' biggest challenges in 'Khatron Ke Khiladi," Akshay said. "The show 'Khatron ke Khiladi' would be the highest level of physical and mental challenge and 13 beautiful daring women will take on their lives' biggest challenges in the show", he added. The models include Yana Gupta, Aditi Govtrikar, Pooja Bedi, Sonali Kulkarni, Tapur Chatterjee, Tupur Chatterjee, Sayali Bhagat, Nethra Raghuraman, Anjana Sukjani, Dipannita Sharma, Payal Rohtagi and Meghna Naidu and the show will be shot entirely in South Africa, over a period of one month.
