A Bihar court on Thursday vacated its earlier interim stay on the release of Kites, starring actors Hrithik Roshan and Barabara Mori, paving the way for its release on May 21. On May 4, a Bihar Munsif court had restrained the producers from releasing the film. The order was passed in a suit filed by Laxmi Narayan Prasad, who claimed he had acquired copyright in a storyboard of the film and that FilmKraft was unauthorisedly using it in Kites.
“The appeal was disposed of on Thursday, thereby vacating the interim stay,” said Ameet Naik, lawyer for both FilmKraft and Adlabs. The Munsif court will hear the suit on May 24.
