It seems like Vishesh Films' Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan Starrer, 'Jannat', is on way to becoming the biggest hit of 2008. The movie, made at a budget of barely 9-10 crore, has netted around 25 crores in just two weeks from India and still counting. It is all the more more creditable because the Kunal Deshmukh directed venture has achieved this at the peak of the IPL fever!

Just to elaborate, both 'Race' and 'Jodhaa Akbar' have netted in excess of 63 crores from India, but were sold/distributed at prices of 35-40 crores, unlike 'Jannat', that was sold at barely 11-12 crores. And that means that the return on investment for 'Jannat' is the highest so far.

Meanwhile the leading man of 'Jannat', Emraan Hashmi, has reportedly upped his price to Rs. 5 crores from the the present 1.5 crores.
