Nainital, June 3 (PTI) Time stood still as Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan undertook a highly emotional trek down the memory lane today, returning to his alma mater the prestigious Sherwood College here after half a century recalling how he learnt the "greatest lesson" of his life. As Bachchan, now in his sixties, attended the inauguration of the three-day Founder's Day celebrations of the college where he spent some of the most formative years of his life in 1950s, he was swarmed with memories--sweet and sour--of one of the premier schools in the country established in 1867.Writing on his blog, Bachchan recalled his years in the school here, how he appeared in key roles in plays staged during annual days and won the best actor's award by playing the role of Mayor in Russian playwright Nikolai Gogol's "Government Inspector" in 1957.
The deep disappointment of not being able to appear in author Agatha Christie's "And Then There were None" and being confined to hospital bed on the day the play was staged brought Bachchan the "greatest lesson" of his life from none other than his illustrious father Harivansrai Bachchan.
