Though the actor was not present, Abhay Deol still made his presence felt at the Cannes Film Festival recently. Dev Benegal's 'Road Movie' that has Deol in the lead received a thunderous applause at the festival. Tannishtha Chatterjee plays Abhay's love interest in the film.

A source said, "Abhay plays a truck driver whose life goes through a complete transformation. The way it is shown in the film influences the viewers. It inspire the audience to bring about a change in thier lives too. Abhay's character is the kind the audience can easily relate to."

'Road Movie' shows Abhay meeting different people a young boy, a tribal woman, a silly and a wise man during his journey. " 'Road Movie' has created a strong buzz at Cannes just like 'Slumdog Millionaire' did recently," said the source.
