London, June 9 (PTI) After a long drawn battle with Malawian authorities, it looks like 'Queen of Pop' Madonna is finally set to bring home four-year-old Mercy James. The superstar has convinced three judges from the country's Supreme Court of Appeal to allow her to adopt, The Sun online reported. A local court of the African nation had previously turned down Madonna's bid to adopt Mercy as the star did not fulfill the required 'residential parameters'. After which an upset Madonna had appealed to the Supreme Court.
The ruling is set to be announced next Sunday at Malawi's Supreme Court of Appeal. "The paperwork is being typed up now. All recommendations are in favour of the adoption taking place. Mercy should start packing her bags. She's off to America," a source told the publication. "She made a promise that she wouldn't give up on Mercy and, believe me, she could move mountains when she's this determined," a friend of the star said adding that the singer was "ecstatic" with the decision. The 50-year-old star had already adopted three-year-old David Banda from the country in 2006. She had been granted an interim adoption for David that year and immediately took him to UK but the adoption process was completed last year.
