Macau, June 11 (PTI) The child stars of 'Slumdog Millionaire' stole the show from the Bachchan clan at an IIFA green carpet event here today.

The teenage actors Tanay Chheda, Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar and Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala who played Jamal, Latika and Salim in the Oscar winning film walked the green carpet at the IIFA weekend with fans chanting their names as they walked by.

But despite the fanfare, it was Rubina Ali who was the most talked about despite her absence, while some screamed for Freida Pinto.

"Is she Rubina Ali, the young girl who played Latika," a local journalist asked pointing at Tanvi but seemed disappointed when told that the 9-year-old child star will not be attending the award ceremony.

"We were told that Slumdog stars would be walking the carpet and wanted to get a picture of hers. She was recently in Hong Kong to perform," he added.

Rubina along with her co-stars Ayush Khedekar and Azharrudin Mohhamed had recently performed for a charity fund raising show in Hongkong.

Chheda, who played the teenage Jamaal in the Oscar winning film said, "I have been just walking through the hotel and trying to figure out my way and I am really excited about the circus tonight I have heard it is great."
