Macau, June 11 (PTI) The wax statue of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, which was flown in from London's Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum to Macau for the IIFA celebrations, was unveiled by the megastar today. The actor, flanked by his son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai, unveiled the statue at a green carpet event.

Bachchan, dressed in a black tuxedo for the ceremony, was an interesting contrast to his wax figure which was dressed in a traditional black sherwani with a heavily embroidered black shawl.

"I am very happy and I thank Madame Tussauds for considering me worthy of a wax statue. I hope many more from India fraternity join me in the museum," Bachchan said.

While Abhishek exclaimed that it was great to see the statue again, Aishwarya said, "The statue is nice but you can't beat the original." The waxwork remained a star attraction on the green carpet with other Bollywood stars and dignitaries making a stop to get a picture with Bachchan's wax replica.

The statue will be showcased here for three days during the IIFA weekend till June 13 and will stay at Hong Kong before making its way back to London.
