Why A Six- Week Nap For Sanjay Gadhvi´s Dutt Starrer ´Kidnap´!

As is known, the IFC (Indian Film Company), which holds the worldwide rights of Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision's 'Kidnap', has decided to postpone the film film's release from 22nd August to 2nd October.

The six-week postponement has been done because the 'Ramzan' month of fasting would begin during the first week of September. Since a number of muslims, who observe fasting during the month do not watch films or indulge in any entertainment activities at that time, IFC felt, it would affect the box-office performance of the film.

'Kidnap', starring the 'Deadly' Dutt and others is not a small film by any stretch of imagination and it would be in the film's interest to let it have a run without the opposition of a dull period (for movies) like 'Ramzan'. Since the best date after the 'Ramzan' month is 'Eid', IFC has decided to get the Sanjay 'Dhoom' Gadhvi directed 'Kidnap' on October 2 ( Gandhi Jayanti & 'Eid').

The same date will also see the release of Abhishek Bachchan's much awaited SFX extravaganza 'Drona', Salman Khan's 'Wanted Dead And Alive' and may be Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini'.
