A section of the trade reports that EROS International is believed to be negotiating for the worldwide rights of Rakesh Roshan's Anurag Basu directed, 'Kites', for Rs. 100 crore plus.

The last big deal between a producer and a worldwide distributor was for Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini', which the Indian Film Company acquired for all-India distribution from its producers for Rs. 70 crores.

The EROS deal is not just for India and Overseas theatrical rights of 'Kites' but also for its satellite and musical rights. Like the recent US $1 billion (in Hollywood projects) investment by Reliance Big Entertainment is unprecedented in the history of Indian cinema, the probable acquisition of Hrithik Roshan-Barbara Mori's 'Kites' is also unparalleled.

No wonder, it has left a number of people in the industry open-mouthed in disbelief.
