London, June 20 (PTI)'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Orlando Bloom raised 9000 pounds for charity by auctioning a dinner date with himself. The English actor who is reportedly engaged to Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr was at a charity bash for the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London where he auctioned off the expensive date to a fan, reported Contactmusic.

The 32-year-old actor is the latest in the long list of celebrities who have put themselves under the hammer for the cause of charity.

Earlier this year, supermodel Kate Moss sold a kiss for 5,000 pounds at another fund raising event for the children's hospital.

But it was new kid on the block, 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson who managed to rake in the biggest amounts when he scooped a staggering 40,000 pounds for kissing two teenage girls at the Cannes Film Festival.
