New Delhi, Jun 26 (PTI) On the fourth anniversary of legendary Bollywood producer Yash Johar his son Karan reveals how his father's death played a big role in transforming his perspective on life and relationships. "My perspective on life and relationships changed overnight," writes Karan about life after the death of his father, in his blog 'mynameiskaran.' He further says, "Death has a tendency of bringing you back to life".

Yash Johar, who began his career in Bollywood as a storywriter, passed away in 2004 on June 26 after fighting a losing battle against cancer and chest infection.

Beginning his career as an assistant producer in 1962 with Sunil Dutt's production company Ajanta Arts for 'Mujhe Jeene Do' Johar senior had earned a name for making films based on Indian traditions and family values with sets that were quite lavish and set in exotic locales.

The era of late 1960s and 70s saw him associating with Dev Anand's 'Navketan' films and involving in the production of classics like 'Guide,' 'Jewel Thief' and 'Prem Pujari'.

It was only in 1977 that Johar senior launched his own banner 'Dharma Productions'. Karan, who debuted with 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' as director in 1998 says that the new "headspace" after his father's death led him to make 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna' in 2006.
