Monsoon And ´New York´ Bring Cheers To Bombay & Bollywood!
- Planet Bollywood Special Correspondant           Let us know what you think about this story

It was as if even the heavens were celebrating on Friday, June 26, the day Yash Chopra’s 'New York' opened to a fabulous response in Bombay.

For, that’s the day the rain Gods decided to give the people of the metropolis respite from the sweltering heat. Heavy rains lashed the city from the early morning hours of 26th June and, as if in synch with the monsoon, it rained audiences on the cinemas a few hours later. Owners of multiplexes and single-screen cinemas had reason to smile from ear to ear because it was after more than three months that they were seeing such crowds.

Normally, heavy rains would have proved to be a dampener for the box-office but, luckily for 'New York', even the downpour could not deter the people from flocking to the cinemas.
