Sardarjis are suddenly in fashion in Bollywood. Don’t get it? There’s a portion in Imtiaz Ali’s 'Love Aaj Kal' in which hero Saif Ali Khan plays a Sardar.

Rani Mukerji disguises as a Sardar in Anurag Singh’s debut directorial venture, 'Dil Bole Hadippa!'. And in Shimit Amin’s 'Rocket Singh', Ranbir Kapoor plays a Sardar, Rocket Singh.

Last year’s 'Singh Is Kinng' also had Akshay Kumar playing the turbaned hero in the title role. Considering that cases of heroes/heroines playing Sardars in films have, till now, been few and far between, the current scenario is indeed quite unique.
