- Planet Bollywood Special Correspondant           Let us know what you think about this story

The IMPPA (Indian Motion Pictures' Producers Association) has so far received a request from just one producer for recommending his film to the Film Federation of India for sending it as India’s entry in the Best Foreign Language Film Award category of the Oscar. The producer is Rakeysh Mehra and the film is 'Delhi-6'.

For recommendation for the Oscar this year, a film should fulfil the following conditions:

(1) It should have been released or should be releasing between 1st October 2008 and 30th September 2009 and should have run for seven consecutive days at least.

(2) No type of television or internet transmission of the film should have occurred at any time prior to the theatrical release.

(3) The recording of the original dialogue track as well as the completed picture must be predominantly in a language or languages other than English.

Every producer applying is required to pay a fee of Rs. 20,000 per film. The names of the films with their release date must reach the FFI office by September 15.

Our best wishes for Rakeysh Mehra and 'Delhi 6'
