Amjad Ali Khan´s Sarod Symphony Released By PM Manmohan Singh

The album, described as a neo-classical extravaganza, involves the melodious strains of the sarod played with an accompaniment of a full orchestra.

The Prime Minister released the album at his Parliament House office at a brief function attended by Khan and his two sons.

"Sarod symphony features Sarod with European music. It is an effort to take Sarod to the international market," Amjad Ali Khan said after the release of the album.

This is the first album featuring the maestro and his two sons with an orchestra.

"This is a combined effort of me and my sons and a very talented young musician Stephen Devassy who has done the programming for the album," Khan said.
