Kochi, Aug 20 (PTI) Malayalam actor Mohanlal today said one of the best moments of his life was having acted along with the late Bharat Gopi in the film 'Aakashagopuram', which will be released on August 22. Speaking to reporters after a preview of the film, Mohanlal, who plays the hero, said he considered it an honour to have acted along with Bharat Gopi, "one of the greatest Malayalam actors." "Aakashagopuram' is an adaptation of the Henrik Ibsen classic 'Master Builder'. The entire film was shot in England. The film Director K P Kumaran said that the intriguing psychological insights into human nature, as well as the experiences of the characters in situations of conflict in Ibsen's play was what attracted him to it. "It lifts the play from the level of the mundane," he said.
The pioneers of Malayalam prose drama such as N Krishna Pillai, who revolutionised the stage with his plays 'Bhagna Bhavanam' and 'Kanyaka' (Young Girl) were inspired by Isben, he said. "Adapting 'Master Builder' is the greatest tribute I can pay to the playwright, whose dramas have always inspired me," he said. The films tells the story of Albert Samson (Mohanlal), a middle-aged architect who slowly makes his way up in his profession and becomes one of the most sought after persons. The film producer Manu S Kumaran said about Rs 10 crore had been spent on making the film. The film also stars Sreenivasan, Swetha Menon, Manoj K Jayan, Geethu Mohandas and newcomer Nithya.
